Nominations

We are currently accepting nominations for positions on the Gamma Lambda Alumni Corporation. Please use the form below to submit your nominations. Self nominations are accepted and there is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit. Upon receiving your nomination, the person who has been nominated will be notified via email and will be given an opportunity to accept or decline their nomination. Nominations will close Saturday, July 1st at 10:00 p.m. after which an online ballot will be created for voting.

Voting

Voting will begin on July 2nd at 10:00 a.m. via online ballot and will close two weeks later on Saturday, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. Nominees will be given an opportunity to submit platforms or idea sheets to be posted on this site or emailed to the listserv during this period. Results will be sent out via email soon after all votes are tabulated and will be posted on this site and the Gamma Lambda Forum.

Position Descriptions

Treasurer
The Treasurer serves as a member of the Executive Board and is responsible for preparing and maintaining an accurate budget, collecting all fees, dues, assessments, and fines, and reimbursing alumni purchases and expenditures. The Treasurer is also responsible for reviewing financial statements concerning the budget to ensure that spending follows the planned course and that funds are being handled responsibly. This position works very closely with the Financial Advisor and Director of Fundraising/Development to plan for the fiscal future of the Alumni Corporation and the Undergraduate Chapter.

Alumni Advisor
The role of the Alumni Advisor is to serve as counsel and support on alumni issues pertaining to the following constituents: Gamma Lambda alumni, Colorado area alumni, Alumni Corporation, and Gamma Lambda undergraduate brothers. This position provides overall support and guidance to chapter and alumni through interaction with University of Denver staff and administration and the Office of Campus Activities (Greek Life). 

Legal Advisor
The Legal Advisor serves as the counsel for all legal matters involving the Alumni Corporation or the Gamma Lambda undergraduate chapter. This includes, but is not limited to, the chapter house lease, contracts, payments, house maintenance, and collections. In addition, the Legal Advisor works to ensure that Local and National By-Laws are being followed correctly and updates Alumni Corporation By-Laws when necessary.

Financial Advisor
The Financial Advisor is responsible for helping the undergraduate chapter file all appropriate tax forms and for auditing the undergraduate chapter’s books when necessary. In addition, the Financial Advisor will facilitate the financial oversight of the undergraduate chapter, specifically in working with the undergraduate Treasurer, and conduct yearly financial evaluations of the undergraduate chapter and the Alumni Corporation to ensure compliance and healthy operation.

Recruitment Advisor
The Recruitment Advisor helps to facilitate the planning and scheduling of undergraduate recruitment in the formal periods of fall, winter, and spring. During formal recruitment periods, the Recruitment Advisor works to recruit alumni involvement with recruitment events, specifically with attendance at Shakespeare’s. This position works closely with the Undergraduate Chapter, specifically the Recruitment Chair to support formal and informal recruitment. Also, the Recruitment Advisor can design and develop recruitment workshops and set incentives for excellence in recruitment.

Director of Social Events
The Director of Social Events is responsible for the organization, planning, and coordination of social events for Theta Chi alumni. Events include both yearly (Founder’s Day Family Weekend, Homecoming and Parents Weekend, Gamma Lambda Family Ski Trip) and periodic (social events, outings, quarterly breakfasts). This person will work with the Treasurer to make sure that adequate funding is available to cover the costs of social events and the Director of Communications to market and advertise events through the web site and listserv. The director collaborates with other Alumni Corporation members and alumni volunteers and also has the power to create planning committees when necessary.

Director of Fundraising/Development
The Director of Fundraising/Development is responsible for long-term financial goal setting and implementation. The primary duty of this position is to oversee the maintenance of the Gamma Lambda Scholarship Fund (CSSF) and Annual Fund and work with alumni, parents, parents of alumni, DU faculty and staff, and other friends of the Fraternity to raise funds and meet financial goals. The Director will work with the Financial Advisor and the Treasurer to help insure the financial viability of the Alumni Corporation as well as plan future giving campaigns.

Director of Communications
The Director of Communications will work with the Secretary and the other Directors to inform alumni of current news and upcoming events.   The primary duties for this position consist of producing the periodic newsletter, maintaining and updating the web site and message board (Gamma Lambda Forum), and providing periodic updates and maintenance of Gamma Lambda alumni listserv.  Experience in electronic communications, specifically web design (more content management than architecture or design) is preferred, but not necessary. Residence in Denver is not necessary.
