MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF PARENT RELATIONS

It seems like only yesterday that we were looking at colleges and wondering about our son’s future. Our son Brother Nick Sauer (2005) graduated in June of 2005 in what had to have be the fastest four years of a parent’s lives. Our first step on the DU campus sealed the deal. This was the place with the right fit; the right look and all the right stuff!

Freshman year, dorms and ski trips, a thing called rush and we’re part of a fraternity. What a blessing! Alcohol free, smart young men with ideas about leading this country, being great husbands and dads and learning to make a buck at the same time. Who could ask for more? My life was dramatically enhanced when my son realized that I had never been a part of Greek life in college and invited me to become a brother. It is one of the single highest honors a father can ever receive. I will be part of “The Helping Hand” for all the days of my life.

As part of my commitment to this incredible organization and the unbelievable young men it serves is this position as Director of Parent Relations. It’s a little way to stay in touch, to share what’s going on at DU, and to keep my connections to the fraternity brothers that mean so much to me.

I want to encourage you all to get involved in some fashion with the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Theta Chi at the University of Denver . The house can always use updates...cookies never go to waste...building a new Gamma Lambda home is a real good idea...Hockey Games are a great social time...and Denver is just a wonderful town. If visiting is out of the question, get involved with the newsletter. We want those poignant moments, the successes and failures, and of course the humor in the lives of our members.

Theta Chi is about brotherhood and sharing. Join in!

With Love and Respect,

Bruce Sauer (2003)
